Professional Learning Communities

Professional Learning Communities

“A Professional Learning Community (PLC) is educators committed to working collaboratively in ongoing processes of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve. PLCs operate under the assumption that the key to improved learning for students is continuous, job-embedded learning for educators.” Professional Learning Communities are going to change. The change will come in response to technology and the need to adopt it as a part of how a PLC functions. Collaborative technology platforms are going to have a major impact on the current Professional Learning Community model. Converged Networking, the ability to carry data, voice, and video over a single network will change how, where, and with whom Professional Learning Communities collaborate with.
