Magness Arena

Magness Arena

Magness Arena is a 7,200-seat multi-purpose collegiate sports arena in Denver, Colorado. It was built from 1997 to 1999 as part of the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports & Wellness, a $84 million, 400,000-square-foot (37,000 m2) sports complex at the University of Denver. It is home to the University of Denver Pioneers ice hockey and basketball teams. The Ritchie Center replaced the former DU Arena which was razed in 1997 to make way for the Ritchie Center. The arena is named after cable television pioneer Bob Magness, who donated $10 million towards construction costs.
