SWAT Team Requirements

SWAT Team Requirements

When regular law enforcement officers such as the local police can't handle a dangerous situation, they turn to the SWAT team. A special weapons and tactics, or SWAT, team is a team of specially trained and equipped law enforcement individuals, called in for extremely dangerous situations when public safety is at risk. Becoming a member of the SWAT team means adhering to special requirements. Special weapons and tactics (SWAT) teams are members of law enforcement agencies that are deployed in situations that require highly skilled tactical officers, such as hostage or kidnapping incidents. Members of SWAT teams are usually veteran members of the department who have undergone special training and who are in excellent physical and mental condition.
